Enhance your Intuition with Colour Indigo

Colour Influence is the first in a series where we look at colour in our life. Next we took a basic look at chakras.

Over the next few posts we’ll look at the 7 chakra colours as well as white and black. Each chakra colour has influence on a physical, emotional and mental level. We’ll also see how the colour is reflected in our clothes and décor. The last in this series was Blue

Today we’re looking at the colour INDIGO

The colour INDIGO strengthens our intuition  The Third Eye Chakra is located in the brow. It’s colour is INDIGO

We can see the big picture and give it focus from here in the forehead between the eyes.

  • Physically – This chakra is linked to our eyes, nose, ears and brain and the pituitary gland. It reflects our two fold nature of ego and spirit, the intuitive and intellectual, our masculine and feminine energies. When the Third Eye Chakra is working to full effect it provides a good sound intuition and instinctive qualities.
  • Emotionally – A balanced Third Eye Chakra ensures you keep a positive outlook and aids concentration and the ability to focus. It allows a person to see a clear picture, use both their intuition and intellect to get to the truth. On a negative side – fear of the truth, lack of self-discipline, poor judgement and confusion.
  • Mentally – Thinking is often abstract. You may be a visionary. On a negative note you may experience fears and phobias, rely too much on intellect rather than your intuition.

  1. This is so interesting, Lorelle! I totally thought that this color was a darker blue and that indigo is in fact violet! Learning something new every day. I’ll have to look at wearing indigo, I do not really have a lot of pieces in my wardrobe. However I love the color!

  2. Interesting Lorelle, I like colors a lot and this is interesting. Do you think people prefer different colors depending on who they are on the inside – or is it more a mood thing – depending on what mood I’m in I feel like waring a certain color?

    • Eva I don’t think it’s that simple but personality and mood certainly are part of the bigger picture. I think we instinctively know we either feel a particular way and attract it further or balance the mood by choosing the right colour. So with indigo, if we’re emotionally negative confused and poor judgement we may sink further by wearing it more. If we want to pull out of that we might wear something with some orange or yellow to uplift the spirits and balance the chakra.

  3. After I read through the post, I scrolled back up to look at the color again and I realized that it is very calming and gives me a focused feeling. I read somewhere that it’s easier on the eyes to read blue font rather than black font. It suggested changing fonts to blue (when typing a document) and then changing back to black before printing or sending to someone.

I love that you’re describing the colors associated with Chakras. I’ve read on Chakras and I use their presence in my coaching, but I haven’t paid too much attention to the meaning of their colors.

  4. I don’t have anything Indigo now that I think of it…
For some reason I always figured the third eye was a different color.. like a yellow or something of that sort. Now I know… so interesting. I used to sleep with an Indigo-ish stone under my pillow… I forget what it was called… but it was said to help clear the third eye etc. I miss it… I was so drawn to it.
This was great!!! Thank you so much 🙂
